Corporate InformationOver the previous 7 years, Hydrosize has focused on developing materials to coat the surface of reinforcing fibers to protect the fibers during processing, facilitate fiber handling, and improve the interfacial adhesion between the fibers and polymeric resins. Throughout the years, we have received numerous requests to develop polymeric materials outside our targeted business and the demand for innovative solutions has only accelerated over the years. Unfortunately, due to our limited resources we have only been able to accept a few projects outside of the sizings market. Until now…. Hydrosize has added a new research department to respond to the increasing demand for specialty materials research. This is a great growth opportunity for Hydrosize and to provide a vital resource for our current and future customers. The scientists at Hydrosize have doctoral degrees in polymer chemistry and engineering and have the formal education and experience to work in a wide range of technologies. The research and development division will now be organized into two major departments, Specialty Coatings and Innovative Materials. The Specialty Coatings Department includes Sizings, Binders, and Coatings and Adhesives. New polymeric materials research, process development, and custom manufacturing comprise the Innovative Materials Department.
